The International Order of St. Luke the PhysicianThe International Order of St. Luke the Physician is an ecumenical organization dedicated to the Christian healing ministry. It promotes the healing of the body, soul, and spirit. The order requires its members to study the 26 healing encounters specifically recounted in the four gospels and to read three other books on Christian healing. Although the order recognizes the healing talents provided by doctors and nurses we also believe Jesus to be our Savior (Healer), leader, light, law, and king. The rule of the order includes praying for our world, attending church regularly, and seeking health of body, soul, and spirit to make us capable of maximum vocation. The order asks us to cultivate the gifts God has given us for the work of healing by study, by active service, and by giving heed to the revelation God gives in particular circumstances. We are to seek continued growth as an instrument our Lord can use for the healing of others. We are also to share the healing gospel with others by personal witness by praying with others, by circulating healing literature and by contributing according to our ability.
